I'd wear that.

As a designer, I had become frustrated by a lack of decent quality graphic t-shirts that really hit that sweet spot between deep-cut nerdery and obscurity.

I put my experience to work and began creating designs I'd be happy to wear and soon I was being stopped in the street by fellow nerds asking about my shirts.

Other people wanted to wear my designs.

So, I created this store. It's as much a portfolio piece as anything else. I make my living making eCommerce stores and branding for clients across the world.

And yes, I did name my design studio after a quote from Star Trek: First Contact.

I'm Christopher Dowson, founder and owner of My First Raygun.

I started MFRG with the idea of creating real identities for fictional companies, but as time went on I started creating designs that I'd never seen anywhere else, but always with a twist: the kids from D&D with a modern edge (I even gave Presto an undercut); Visionaries totems bursting with energy but grounded with realistic touches such as scanlines and edge-lighting.

Or how it all began, with an update to the Star League emblem. I'm still waiting to get whisked into space because of my high score, better than a Hogwarts letter!

But I've never forgotten the fictional companies: why not head to the next metal night at your local club in a Gasworks t-shirt, or perhaps file some TPS reports at Initech.

And I even added a few one-off designs not tied to films or shows.

I've expanded the range into fitted tees, hoodies and mugs, and I have plans to expand further.
